5th April 2022, MELBOURNE — Marketing and Technology Consultancy, The Lumery has appointed Dr. Melanie Irons as their Director of Organisational Development. This appointment signifies another strategic step that The Lumery is taking to continue being a workplace that is proactive about the support, coaching, and development of its most important asset — its people. Determined to differentiate itself from the tainted perspective of agency and consulting models; The Lumery has been building a high-performance team culture, creating an environment centered around psychological safety.

Melanie explains “the moment a colleague first mentioned The Lumery to me over three years ago, they handed me a copy of their cultural handbook, I can remember thinking “who are these people? I need to find out everything”. I was attracted to the company at first blush, but then the more I was invited to see what happens under the hood, the more impressed I was. The Lumery to me signifies opportunity, agility, innovation, excellence, creativity and the future”.

There’s traditional HR, and then there’s organisational development: a field rooted in behavioural science that focuses strategically and relentlessly on fully celebrating and developing the potential of each individual and team. In her role, Melanie will help take The Lumery’s capabilities to a whole new level in terms of comprehensive wellbeing, satisfaction, high-performance, capability and competency development, belonging, flexible work practices and career paving.

Rajan Kumar, Co-Founder & CEO at The Lumery says “I’m passionate about building and fostering an environment that brings out the best in people. We are hiring people that are leaders in their craft, and together, we are building a workplace that lives and breathes its values beyond just sticking them up on a wall. We’ve moved away from a reactive risk mitigation mindset to a proactive one, focused on empowering people and teams to get the best out of each other. We’re now at a maturity where a leader like Melanie can help us build beyond our foundations”.

Rajan also states that the plan is to extend this capability to The Lumery’s client portfolio which includes the likes of Jetstar, Network 10, and Ticketek. “Given so much of our work revolves around people and process change, having someone of Melanie’s calibre supporting capability development is a game-changing prospect for our clients”.
